About Judith

Biography/ CV

Judith is a visual artist and small business entrepreneur whose talents in multiple mediums are inspired by her years of experience as a horticulturist. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Illustration Design from the California College of the Arts in 1999. Subsequently, she applied her visual arts training to horticulture through her fine garden maintenance business, Wonder Women Gardening. Her 20 years of experience nurturing outdoor living spaces and natural environments informs and inspires her current series of shadow paintings found here.

CEO - Wonder Women Gardening 1999 - 2022

“Five years ago I contacted Judith Irwin, my yard needed attention (...) Now I have a beautiful
garden that changes with the seasons. I can look out at it from the kitchen and my family
spends time in the garden most days. Creating the garden has added an amazing "room" to our
home. Judith and her team of wonder women have maintained the garden since it was installed. They
are very detail oriented. Their work days are my favorite days to be home; we confer about
changes to plants and any issues with irrigation, sometimes they bring plants for me to approve
or reject, sometimes I garden with them weeding and pruning and learning from Judith. They
collect seeds for me to hold on to and sprout in the next season. My garden is a joy and I think
of the wonder women as my friends.”

"Judith and her team at Wonder Women have been our gardeners for five years or so. We are
delighted with her work and love looking out at our beautiful and peaceful garden. We regularly
receive compliments about how nice our yard and gardens look. Judith has a very good eye for
how plants will look visually around our house. We trust Judith’s judgment implicitly about
what to plant and the results speak for themselves. Judith and her team are responsive, timely
and informative. We wholeheartedly endorse her!"
